The Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships funded by the Australian Government that aim to contribute to the long-term development needs of Australia’s partner countries, in line with global, bilateral, and regional agreements. The Australia Awards are a whole-of-government initiative bringing together scholarships administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), offering the next generation of global leaders an opportunity to undertake study, research, and professional development in Australia.
Through study and research, recipients develop the necessary skills and knowledge to drive change and build enduring people-to-people links with Australia. The scholarship provides opportunities for people from developing countries, particularly those countries located in the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions. Australia Awards Scholarships demonstrate Australia’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development. The Australian Government encourages equity for all, without discrimination. Australia Awards Scholarships support studies by people with disability and people from marginal or minority groups and aim to empower women to participate in the economy, leadership, and education.
Eligible Countries: Federated States of Micronesia, French Polynesia, Fiji, Indonesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Wallis and Futuna.
